Most system integrators assemble solutions using off-the-shelf computers and computer components to offer a totally integrated solution. These integrators rely on hardware manufacturers to provide them with the traditional computing form factors used to build a system. The resulting solutions are big, bulky, expensive, hard to support and energy inefficient. Xcore focuses on building devices that will be more energy efficient, more portable and more rugged than existing x86 based devices.

While companies such as Dell, HP and IBM focus on delivering millions of computers for the masses, Xcore will focus on building specialized solutions with a target build of 10,000 units per customer. Traditional Systems Integrators lack the skills and tools to build custom portable x86 computing platforms and offer them at a low price. Traditional Computer companies focus on building products for the masses and are not interested in building specialized products, particularly low-cost computing devices. Xcore has a unique set of building blocks that include our own Xcore86 Device on Chip (TM) (DoC) that allows us to build smaller, more energy efficient and less expensive computing devices.
